MEET COACH D
MORE THAN A PITCHING COACH.
Helping pitchers understand their bodies, trust their abilities, and grow into confident athletes—on and off the field.
EXPLORE DR3 PROGRAMS
HI, I’M COACH D.
Pitching coach. Educator. Mentor. Forever student of the game.
I was born and raised in Canton, Georgia, and softball has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
I started playing rec ball at 8 years old and began taking pitching lessons at 9. By my second year of 12U, I had moved into travel ball, and in 8th grade, my softball journey really leveled up when I joined the nationally ranked Georgia Impact organization. That team went on to finish 3rd at PGF Nationals.
During my sophomore year of high school, I verbally committed to play Division I softball at Kennesaw State University. I later finished my high school career with the Atlanta Vipers organization, played my freshman collegiate season at Kennesaw State, and completed my playing career at Georgia College & State University.
Throughout college, I was already teaching lessons and working camps and clinics, which helped me realize how much I loved coaching. In May 2019, I officially started what was then known as DR3 Pitching.
Teaching has always been in my blood. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Special Education in May 2020, with certification for PreK–12, and completed my Master’s in Special Education in July 2021.
What started as a love for pitching eventually became something much bigger: helping athletes understand the game, believe in themselves, and grow both on and off the field.
Even though my softball journey did not turn out as I originally planned, I am so grateful for where it has led me! Coaching is my passion. I feel it’s my life calling and it’s pure joy for me to be making a difference in these young players' journey both on and off the field.
I am currently a pitching instructor, mental training coach, and mentor to incredibly talented girls, ranging in ages from 5-51 in all 50 states and 4 countries! I’ve worked with over 1,000 pitchers worldwide. I give in-person lessons at Cherokee Batting in Woodstock, Georgia.
I have had so many good times playing the sport I love. I have also faced a lot of adversity, and pain, and have shed a few tears but at the end of the day, it was the “failures” that I have come to appreciate more and more since I’ve taken on a different role as a coach. I never thought I’d admit it, but I know I would not be the instructor I am, have the drive that I have, and the passion I have, without going through some hardships and challenges. What I thought was a mess is actually my message to each player I have the privilege to teach: Ladies, never give up on your passion! Just know that God closes one door but always opens another door if we stay in His will.
