Movements That Matter: A Session I’ll Never Forget

I’ll never forget this mini-intensive session with my girl Preslie — one of my California pitchers who’s been absolutely crushing it in her sophomore high school season!

When we filmed this, she was just getting back from an injury. But let me tell you — this girl showed up every single week in our virtual sessions, ready to work. We weren’t just rebuilding her mechanics. We were rebuilding her foundation.

One of the things we focused on? Movements that matter — strength drills that actually translate into the circle.

This drill right here quickly became one of her favorites. It got her deeper into her legs, helped her connect with that powerful push-off position, and most importantly — it started to unlock more velocity as she came out of recovery.

And this is what I’m passionate about:

  • Training smart.

  • Training intentionally.

  • Training for what actually shows up in the game.

Are you gonna bring dumbbells to the field in a wagon? Probably not.
But are you warming up and training in ways that fire up the muscles you NEED to be explosive, strong, and stable — especially deep into game three or four on a weekend?

Because here’s the truth no one talks about enough:

Fatigue doesn’t always come from throwing too much.
Sometimes it comes from not training right in the offseason.

Preslie — I’m so proud of how far you’ve come. Watching you trust your body, move with intention, and attack the zone with confidence has been such a gift.

Train the movements that matter.
Feel your body.
Trust your body.
