Unlocking the Power Already Inside You
Jun 04, 2025
Hey Pitcher,
I see you.
I know what it feels like when your mind is racing faster than your windup. When pressure squeezes your chest. When all the hours you’ve put in at practice suddenly feel like they vanish the second you toe the rubber
I get it—because I’ve been there.
As someone who’s walked that same path (and earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Special Education), I’ve made it my mission through DR3 Fastpitch to help girls like you not only perform—but thrive—under pressure.
Here’s the truth:
You don’t have to fight the nerves. You can flip them.
That feeling in your stomach? That’s not fear. That’s fuel.
Let’s stop trying to hide anxiety—and instead, learn how to use it.
Start here:
1. Visualize the Win
Not just before the game. Do it in the car, at home, in school, anywhere. Picture yourself hitting spots, owning the circle, and walking off with confidence. Your brain doesn’t know the difference between a real rep and a visual one—so let’s get those mental reps in.
2. Create a Pre-Game Power Routine
Breathe deep. Blast your hype song. Move through your warmup with purpose. That rhythm? That’s your anchor. Structure brings calm.
3. Journal It Out
After each game, dump your thoughts. What went well? What frustrated you? What did you learn? Clarity comes when you write it out.
4. Speak Life Over Yourself
Say this with me:
“I am calm. I am capable. I am enough.”
Write it. Repeat it. Believe it.
5. And most of all—remember this:
Your stats don’t define you. Your heart does. People will remember how you made them feel. Be the kind of teammate others want to stand beside. That’s real leadership.
You’re not “too sensitive.” You’re not “too emotional.” You are powerful, and it’s okay to feel it all.
Everything you need is already inside of you.
You just have to unlock it.
And when you do?
Oh girl… it’s going to be incredible.
Let’s go light it up,
Coach D
